2020 Climbing With A Cop Fundraiser
Middletown - Middletown and Hazlet PBAs joined together at the Gravity Gym in Middletown to raise money for Special Olympics. Those who registered ahead of time or walked into Gravity Vault could pay to climb the walls with the help of police officers. The event was started by Anthony Pullizano, an Upper Saddle River police officer who is originally from Hazlet and came up with the idea. He has been working with Gravity Vault locations across the state (6 total) for 4 years now. This is the second year the Middletown location has hosted the event. Police expected to raise approximately $20,000 raised for special olympics. Mayor Tony Perry of Middletown and Hazlet Mayor Michael Glackin had a race to see who could climb to the top. It was neck and neck until Mayor Perry gained the lead to take home the victory. Both mayors were presented with awards of appreciation for their support of the event.
