Diwali 2018 Celebration in Tinton Falls

Tinton Falls - Members of the community came together at Mahala F. Atchinson Elementary School in a wondeful sign of unity to learn about and celebrate the Hindu festival of lights, Diwali. Joined by State Senator Vin Gopal, attendees were treated to song and dance by members of the Nrityakala Dance Academy as speakers shared the story behind Diwali from the Hindu epic, where Rama, Sita, Lakshmana and Hanuman reached Ayodhya after being in exile and Rama's army of good defeated the demon king Ravana's army of evil. Afterward the ceremony concluded, all were invited to enjoy various Indian foods as well as enjoy each others company.
