Shrewsbury 2018 5k Race

Shrewsbury - October 21, 2018 marked the 24th annual Shrewsbury Classic 5k. Organized by the Foundation for Shrewsbury Education, this event for all ages is a popular fundraiser that helps the foundation on its stated mission to "support and enhance the educational and technological needs of the students and teachers of the Shrewsbury Borough School". Held at the Shrewsbury Boro School, the event featured a one mile fun run before the main 5k run. Many participants took the opportunity to warm themselves up in the one mile run to fight to cool and windy fall morning weather. Over 200 racers participated in the race with the vast majority coming straight from Shrewsbury itself. Shrewsbury's own Christian Manning came in first place for the 5k run, however the many volunteers present will all agree the real winners are the children of Shrewsbury as they continue to get the additional support and tools to succeed in their education.
